Kiwi Can National Training 2008
The Kiwi Can annual national training took place 22nd-25th January, at the MERC Centre in Long Bay. As well as an opportunity to network, socialise and catch up with colleagues, it was primarily a time of professional development for our Kiwi Can Leaders.
Sessions were designed to give Leaders some additional tools, ideas and resources to use in their classrooms as well as skill and knowledge development. Input was given around managing challenging behaviour in the classroom and how to align Kiwi Can lessons to the new national curriculum. The highlight of the week for many was the challenge of
rock climbing, sea kayaking and raft-building. These activities were excellent in building stronger teams as well as challenging ourselves to succeed on a personal level.
Thank you to all Leaders and Co-ordinators who participated with such enthusiasm, creativity and energy. We look forward to seeing all you have learnt being put into practice in your classrooms in 2008!
